Welcome to Human Week!
As you may know, we’ve shared a lot about the different Human classes: Biker, Cop, Punk, Redneck and Teenager. Every class has 10 variable attributes that make each one special. You can read more about this topic in a past update HERE.
Of course, you have the option to design their character to match yourself or your greatest enemy…we won’t judge. You can change your skin tone, determine body type, select your favorite face design, dive through the existing virtual closet to pick class-based clothes, style your hair according to the options presented and even choose your animation. Let your individualism fly. Sorry to say, there is no leopard print at this moment!
Humans walk, run, crouch and crawl through the world in their quest to survive the Klown invasion. So, maybe think twice about that miniskirt and cowboy boots combo, unless it’s all that and a bag of chips.
The appearance of the Humans was carefully researched to be a catch-all of the different types of people we see in the movie and we even drew on some of our favorite late 80’s horror flicks for additional ideas to mix things up. Knowing that we’d have a nice avatar customization system, we cast a wider net in our research to ensure we have more variety for player desires.
Our creative leads, Randy Greenback and LD are big cinephiles – especially when it comes to horror. They tapped back to many of the classics like Poltergeist, Friday the 13th, Monster Squad, Return of the Living Dead, Evil Dead – and even looked to iconic characters like Elvira, and timely thrillers like Heathers, to pinpoint the exact hair styles, clothing and swagger that make 80s movies so immediately recognizable.
As you know there are several ways to win the match as a Human, whether or not your chosen style is inspired by the pages of the latest Tiger Beat or going for the comfort of your last basement tabletop campaign. So fashion aside, what’s your game plan?
The first is full on battle - take the fight to the Klowns. Shoot those red glowing targets to remove them from the game…for a moment. Sneak into the spaceship to take out the power core for a more permanent solution. This will require coordination as those Klowns only get more powerful through the match. This is why it’s so important to choose (and re-choose when you die) your Human class carefully as they have different abilities and proficiencies.
The second is for those who just want to make sure the tribe makes it out of this invasion. So go ahead and lock yourself in your room, loot a nice burger and enjoy the mayhem on the streets for a minute before you strategize the best way to…stay out of the way and save any NPCs or teammates who just want to make sure the citizens remain alive.
The third is for those who just want to run run run away and say “I’m out!”. Time to look for a place less perpetually in the dark and that has more malls. If you find the right means to leave, you can flee the town and leave one less player for the Klowns to mark off their kill list. More on this later as we prepare to reveal gameplay details.
Incidentally, if you’ve enjoyed Microwave week, you might have also noticed that all of the microwaves are open. Hmm.
While we teased you with the possibility of a mischief-making micro-aggressor sneaking into houses, the reality is that as a Human you’re the sneakers, and we don’t mean those fresh Chuck Taylors on your feet. Many...and we mean many, items can be opened and searched in the game. Microwaves are just one of them. So who knows what you might find randomly placed in there? Make sure you don’t turn them on in case it’s a wrench - fireworks don’t belong outside of the big top! Don't you know what microwaving metal can do to a premium piece of 80's kitchen technology? (No microwaves were harmed in the making of this joke.)
Stay tuned for more of Human week, coming up shortly!
